Uniontown, PA- Talladega College lose it first round game against UC Clermont 81-76.
Talladega got off to a slow start and never could overcome fifteen point deficit. UC Clermont came out with a strong shooting performance 47 percent from the field and 40 percent from the behind the arc. While Talladega shot 41 percent from the field and 36 percent from behind the arc.
Senior guard Nikole Ramos kept Talladega close in the first half by knocking down several triples. At the break the Lady Tornadoes trailed 46-43. To start the second half UC Clermont continued there offensive firepower by increasing the lead to as much as 15 points. Talladega went on 16-2 run to cut the deficit to one with under minute left in the game.
The Lady Tornadoes were led in scoring by Nikole Ramos with 18 points, Tamiko Rounds 12 points and Ebony Richardson 11 points. All American Morgan Bennett led both teams with 14 rebounds.
Talladega College will move into the losing bracket where they play the host school Penn State Fayette at 11:00 am on Thursday.
