Talladega, AL - TC's Men's Basketball seniors Jeral Davis and Jorge Canedo got exactly what they wanted on their Senior Night; A WIN!

Playing their last game in Talladega, the twin towers willed their team to a 73-70 victory over Life University. The Tornadoes were able to avenge an earlier season loss to Life and win one last time in front of their home fans. The Tornadoes finish the season with a solid 9-2 home record.

TC junior guard Micah Hagans suffered an injury during the first two minutes of action that kept him sidelined for the rest of the game. Life started the game clicking on all cylinders and took advantage of Hagan's absence by taking a 42-34 lead into locker room.

The Tornadoes came out of halftime rallied around their two seniors and went on a 27-9 run to take a 61-51 lead midway through the final half. Life responded with a 7-0 run of their own to cut the deficit to three at 61-58. From their, TC was able to hold on to slim leads until about the 1:00 minute mark when a free throw by Life's Tay Barber tied the game 70-70. On the very next possession Life fouled TC's Tarium Taylor who made both of his free throws to regain the lead for the Tornadoes at 72-70. The Tornadoes were able to come up with several big defensive plays down the stretch to secure the win.

For the fourth consecutive time, TC's senior center, Jeral Davis, led all scorers in the game with 23 points on 9-of-13 (69%) shooting from the field. Patrick Rodgers (21 pts.) and Taruim Taylor (10pts.) also scored in double figures in the win for TC.

Life was led by Ken Moore's 19 points and Tay Barber's 17 points.

"We allowed Barber to pick apart our man-to-man defense for the majority of the first half which made us switch to zone in the second half to try and limit Barber's play making. We were able to get our offensive going a little bit in the second half along with our defensive adjustment. I'm proud that our guys found a way to win despite losing Micah to injury early in the first half and I'm happy that Jeral and Jorge won on their Senior Night," remarked TC coach Matt Cross.

The Tornadoes continue their great play of late and extend their winning streak to eight. Talladega College (21-7) will travel to South Carolina and look to complete a season series sweep at Voorhees College on Saturday Feb. 28th in their final regular season game.
