
Talladega, AL. - The Tornadoes Men's Basketball Team continued their winning ways with a 87-60 thrashing of the Tigers of Voorhees College on Monday night at Callanan Gymnasium.
In front of the home crowd, the Tornadoes took control of the game early and never looked back. TC held a 43-30 halftime lead. The Tornadoes extended their lead to as much as 30 points early in the second half. Jeral Davis and Tarium Talyor set out to lead their team to another victory; while Micah Hagan's decided that he would take matters in his own hand with a flurry of three pointers.
Hagan's six three pointers gave him a total of 18 points on the night. The junior guard from New Orleans ended the night on 6-of-9 (67%) shooting from beyond the arc. For the third consecutive game, Jeral "Stretch" Davis led all scorers with 32 points on 11-of-13 (85%) shooting from the field. Junior guard Tarium Taylor also scored in double figures with 15 points in the win for TC.
Derrick Williams (16pts.), Calvin Harris (14pts.) and Jerrell Wilburn (10pts.) all scored in double figures on the night for Voorhees College.
The victory by Talladega College extended their winning streak to seven games and earned them a 20 win season. The 20 victories gives TC coach Matt Cross his second consecutive 20 win season while leading Texas College to a school record 21 wins a year ago.
