Talladega College will join the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference beginning 2011-2012 season.
The GCAC will fields volleyball, men's and women's basketball and softball teams.   Talladega College baseball, soccer and golf teams will still compete in Association of Independent Institutions.
 
Dr. Billy C. Hawkins, president of Talladega College stated "We are happy to be a part of this new conference.  The conference membership is outstanding and we look forward to our student athletes competing next year."
 
The GCAC was founded in 1981 and currently consists of the following members:  Dillard University, Edward Waters College, Fisk University, Southern University - New Orleans, Tougaloo College and Xavier University.
